The letter of intent was read aloud. The letter dated July 1, 2009 requested a variance in the set back from the minimum allowed by the town of 100-feet to the center of the road to 50-feet from the center of the road, to construct a cold storage building. The letter further stated that the back half of the property is wetlands and the property is zoned commercial.
Chairman Michels asked the petitioner if there were any additional comments to add to the letter of intent. There were no additional comments.
Chairman Michels explained the BOA sends a letter to Fond du Lac County Planner, Sam Tobias and the Town Building Permit Issuer, Pete Michels asking for an opinion on the variance request. There were no opinions offered from either.
Victor explained that he wanted to construct a cold storage building to store extra parts, the tractor, etc. Plastic heating pipes would be installed but there would be no heat in the building at this time. The new building would be 60-feet by 70-feet and 16-feet high.
The location of the building on the property was shown on a drawing prepared by the petitioner. The old building will be taken down as soon as the new building is constructed. The average setback in this area of the township is 53-feet from the center of the road. The wetland delineation line behind the current buildings is regulated by the DNR. The building will be constructed of wood with metal outside.
