Board Meeting Minutes
January 8, 2018
With all notices having been properly posted, Frank Bartzen, Chairman called the January meeting to order at the Lamartine Municipal Building Meeting Room (LMBMR) at 7:00 pm. Also present at this meeting were Supervisors; Randy Kuik and Roger Grade, Treasurer, Greg Michels and Clerk; Jill Randall. Please see meeting sign in sheet for other attendees.

Pledge of allegiance was recited.

Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting(s)
December Board Meeting Minutes (12/11/17) – Randy seconded by Roger moved to approve the December 11, 2017 Town Board Meeting minutes. Motion carried 3-0.
Treasurer’s Report – Greg read the December Treasurer’s report aloud with an ending balance of
$1,513,148.35. Greg explained that this balance may change as the town received a non-sufficient check in the amount of $100.00. The clerk and the treasure’s end of month books need to balance but are currently out of balance by this $100.00 until the town financial software representative calls to straighten this balance out in the computer. Randy moved seconded by Roger to accept the treasurer’s report as presented. Motion carried 3-0.

Public Comment: NONE

REPORTS & COMMUNICATIONS
a. Road Report—There has not been much snow. The gravel roads are cracking. Hageman Rd cracked but, Smith Road seems to be holding up okay. Rich asked what was going on with the new Road Supervisor position. Rich would still like to move into a part time (PT) role. Mike King is willing to pick up some of the slack and help out. Discussion continued regarding part time plow drivers and when they are available to work. Frank will contact the PT drivers and try to schedule a meeting for one of the dates suggested by the board to meet and develop a plowing call schedule.
i. Culvert Permit Report—NONE
b. Monthly Building Permit Report--NONE
c. WTA – Elected official Educational Meeting (Board of Review Training) – Contact Jill if you want to attend. Greg, Frank and Roger will attend the March 2, 2018 training in Juneau.

OLD BUSINESS:
a. NONE

NEW BUSINESS:
a. Board Action – Becoming members of the WTA – 2018 Town Advocacy Council—Frank stated that he recommended that the town join the Town Advocacy Council to stay up on what is happening in the urban rural towns. The annual fee for 2018 would be $444.00. Roger seconded by Randy moved that the town join the WTA Town Advocacy Council for one year and pay the dues right away. Motion carried 3-0.
Approval of Monthly Vouchers & Checks—Randy moved seconded by Frank to approve the checks and vouchers as presented as well as give permission for the clerk and treasurer to pay US Bank Visa credit card when it arrives in the mail. Motion carried 3-0.
Adjournment—Randy moved seconded by Frank to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0 and the meeting adjourned at 8:35 PM.
