June 16, 2008 Special Town Meeting - Road Bid Opening.

Special Town Meeting
June 16, 2008 at 6:00 PM
Lamartine Municipal Building Meeting Room
Present at this meeting were Chairman Frank Bartzen, Supervisors—Mike Suprenand, and Bruce Rhode, Treasure—Greg Michels and Clerk—Jill Randall.
With all notices having been properly posted, Frank called the meeting to order, stating that the purpose of this meeting was to open road bids for this year’s road projects.
Frank stated that the Town received one sealed bid from Scott Construction.
The bid was opened. The Town had requested bids for six (6) possible roadwork projects they would like to have done this summer. **Please see attached bid specifications for more detail/information. (Attachment “A”).
Discussion took place regarding the road projects and what projects could be cut or scaled back to stay within the Town budget. Mike made a motion to approve five (5) of the projects, excluding #2 Project: Smith Road work and possibly shorten the length of road to be wedged and hot oil seal coated from Project #1 Johnson Road if the Town does not have enough funds. Bruce seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0. The total cost of this years roadwork bids totaled $141,019.00 less $6,500.00 with the exclusion of Project #2—Smith Road.
Mike moved to adjourn the meeting. Bruce seconded the motion. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:40 Pm.
