Information Received on the Road Project Reference Checks
Present at this meeting were Chairman Frank Bartzen, Supervisors—Mike Suprenand, and Bruce Rhode, Treasure—Greg Michels and Clerk—Jill Randall.
With all notices having been properly posted, Frank called the meeting to order, stating that the purpose of this meeting was to report to the board the outcome of the reference checks done on Fahrner Asphalt Sealers (Fahrner).
Frank reported to the board that the responses he received from at least six (6) reference inquiries on Fahrner were not very favorable. Discussion took place as Frank reported who he spoke with regarding the reference checks and the opinion they offered about Fahrner’s work. The board on June 16, 2009 awarded Fahrner the four projects they had bid, even though they were a little over $2000 more than Scott Construction’s bid on these same projects. The board felt they wanted to give Fahrner a chance to do some work in the township.
After much discussion, Mike made a motion, that based on references received on Fahrner Asphalt Sealers the town rescind awarding of road projects number 8 through 11 to Fahrner and award these four projects instead to Scott Construction. Bruce seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
With no further business to discuss Bruce moved seconded by Frank to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:55 Pm.
