Plan Commission Meeting
June 28, 2006 at 6:30 PM
Lamartine Municipal Building Meeting Room
Present at this meeting were Chairman Jim Reitzner, Chris Newton, & Roger Grade. Dean Birschbach and Tom Kramer were absent.
With all notices having been properly posted, Jim called the meeting to order, stating that the purpose of this meeting was to discuss and form a recommendation to give to the Town Board regarding the following two issues: How the Town should proceed with smart growth comprehensive planning and how the Town should go about redistricting the Towns’ Ag use land.
Discussion took place regarding these issues.
The Town has expressed an interest in possibly joining with the Village and Town of Oakfield to apply for a grant and work together on Smart Growth planning. Both municipalities are members of East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (ECWRPC) and if the Town of Lamartine wanted to join with them we would also have to become members of ECWRPC. The estimated annual cost of membership would be around $2300. Further discussion took place.
Roger made a motion that the Plan Commission recommend to the Town Board that the Town join ECWRPC and hire them for assistance in dealing with these issues. Chris seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
With no further business to discuss, Jim seconded by Chris made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
