TOWN OF LAMARTINE
Town Board Meeting
Minutes Dated: May 14, 2012
With all notices having been properly posted, Frank Bartzen, Chairman called the May meeting to order at the Lamartine Municipal Building Meeting Room (LMBMR) at 7:30 Pm. Supervisors Mike Suprenand and Bruce Rhode, Treasurer Greg Michels and Clerk Jill Randall also attended this meeting.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Frank called for any corrections or additions in the April Board Meeting minutes.
¬Mike seconded by Bruce made a motion to approve the April Board meeting minutes as presented.
Motion carried 3-0.
Greg read the April Treasurer’s report. The ending balance as of 4/30/2012 is $491,336.10. Bruce seconded by Mike moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented. Motion carried 3-0.
Mike Gannon, County Board Supervisor for the Town of Lamartine introduced himself and invited anyone with any questions to call him that his phone number is in the book.
8:00 PM – Road Bid Opening—Frank announced that the town received two bids for the reconstruction of an area on Karst Drive. Bids were opened. The bid results are as follows: Baumhardt Sand & Gravel $11,970.00 and Marchant Excavating $2500.00. The Town wants this work completed by June 6th. Bruce moved seconded by Mike to award this project to Marchant Excavating for $2500.00 for reconstruction of an area of Karst Drive. Motion carried 3-0.
REPORTS AND COMMUNICATIONS:
A. Road Report—Frank spoke of the recent excessive rain and a few problems the township had because of it. Frank thanked Rich for the great job on the ball diamond.
B. Newsletter for June / July 2012—Discussion took place regarding the need for a newsletter two times a year. The board felt that there was no need for a full newsletter this June / July. Any information that needs to be gotten out to the town residents would be mailed out on a postcard to each household when necessary.
C. Well Water Sampling for Town Residents: Update on the recent Well Water Sampling Program. The results meeting will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 6:30 Pm until 8:30 Pm at the Rolling Meadows Meeting Room, 560 W Rolling Meadow Drive, Fond du Lac. Frank announced this public meeting.
D. Results of May 8, 2012 Election—The Clerk read the May 8, 2012 Recall Primary results. 528 town residents voted at this election with the results as follows.

E. Board of Review – The first meeting of the Board of Review will be held Monday, May 21, 2012 at 6:00 Pm for the purpose of calling the Board of Review into session during the thirty day period beginning on the 2nd Monday of May, pursuant to Sec.70.47(1) of Wis. Statutes. Due to the fact the assessment roll is not completed at this time, it is anticipated that the Board of Review will be adjourned until the 5th day of September, 2012 at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lamartine Municipal Building Meeting Room.
A. Discussion / decision Approval and Signing of a CSM for the Hintz / Kintzler Property—This item was tabled to the next monthly board meeting or earlier if those involve request a special town board meeting.
B. Discussion / decision regarding Attorneys opinion of Citizen Concerns / Public Comments type items on Town Board Meeting Agendas—Mike moved to eliminate the old verbiage and go with the town attorney’s recommended verbiage on the June Town Board meeting agenda. Bruce seconded the motion. Motion carried 3-0.
A. Board of Appeals members with terms to expire in June - Greg Michels, Randy Kuik, Sandy Karst & Paul Dercks June 2012—Frank will speak to these members and see if they are interested in another term.
B. Reappointment of Veterans Memorial / Cemetery Committee—Discussion took place regarding who was interested in continuing on this committee. This item will be on again at the June Town Board meeting.
Approving the monthly vouchers and checks—Mike seconded by Frank moved to approve payment of the vouchers presented. Motion carried 3-0.
Adjournment—With no further business to discuss, Bruce seconded by Mike made a motion to adjourn. Motion carried 3-0 and the meeting adjourned at 8:50 Pm.
