NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS
Public notice is hereby given to all persons in the Town of Lamartine, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin that proposed text and zoning district map amendments to the Town of Lamartine Zoning Ordinance will be considered for adoption so as to comply with Wisconsin Administrative Code ATCP 51 pertaining to livestock siting and facility expansions.
A Public Hearing will be held in front of the Plan Commission at 7:00 p.m. on August 27, 2008 at the Lamartine Municipal Building Meeting Room, N5269 Schaefer Drive, whereby oral and written comments will be accepted on the proposed ordinance text and zoning district map amendments. The proposed amendments are available for review at the Municipal Building, by contacting the Town Clerk, or by visiting the following website: www.townoflamartine.com
In summary, the proposed amendments create two new overlay zone districts which affect approximately 5,558.1 acres of property. Each zone allows for varying degrees of control over existing and future livestock operations, based on the number of animal units being proposed as well as other factors. Lands outside of these zones would be unable to expand existing livestock herds in excess of 500 animal units unless a re-zoning is requested. The proposed text amendments describe the limitations on livestock expansions applying to these districts, an application and review process, and associated application fees.
